Trainpics: Rotary 2080 001-7
A rather special experience was to be made in January 2005 on the Außerfern line from Garmisch-Partenkirchen to Reutte: Due to heavy snowfall, resulting in a high danger of avalanches, the line had been closed a few days earlier. After the snow had settled down, the danger wasn't imminent any more - but now the line was covered in (in places deep) snow and had to be cleared before it could be reopened. On the sunny January 29th, a Saturday, the ÖBB Beilhack-built rotary 2080 001-7 was brought on the Außerfern-line, providing a show for a good handful of railfans, that they are not likely to forget soon ...
