Trainpics: KBS 955 - BOB

The "Bayrische Oberlandbahn", part of the Deutsche-Eisenbahn-Gesellschaft (DEG), is one of the newest private railways in Germany. It was only in 1999, that the BOB took over the service on the lines from Munich to Lenggries, Tegernsee and Bayrischzell. But the young railway was plagued with organizational and - even more - technical problems with its brand-new rolling stock. In November 1999, the lines even saw the return of DB's class 218, as the 17 "Integral"-MUs were even taken out of service until the problems were solved. They are now back in service and the problems seem to be solved ...

I visited the BOB twice in 1999, on June 3rd and November 1st, when the (temporary) retreat of the Integrals was already imminent.
